Tourists, be careful on the Latvian coast. The Latvian police fines tourists from 100 to 1000€, as if you are in a protected zone, which is the entire Latvian coast, but the territory is not marked with prohibited signs and information boards, the Latvian coast is a trap for naive tourists.

I know this video is 4 years old. I have a house, and I'm Norwegian, you don't have to pay for water. BUT, if you don't want to, you have to rent someone to drill for water. That's about 5 000 USD, but then it's free. :)

Hello How are you? I imagine you must be busy. Looking forward to your next video. Whenever that drops! I was wondering if you would consider making a video (or a blog post?) about the whole process for building a house in Norway. From buying the land, permits and the actual construction. It would be much appreciated, since not a lot of information on this process is available online (in English) Obrigada :)

Drinking tap water cannot be appreciated enough, it is really, really fresh! Even though you will find bottled water also in Norway, but if you are a tourist and buy one bottle of tap water, keep it and refill it at the hotel. Water bottles for multiple uses, especially for biking, is a thing and they can be bought everywhere. A wool cover for the bike seat? Wow, even I who am Norwegian didn‘t know, thanks for the tip, almost a lifehack! Eating too late in general isn’t too healthy, that is correct - if you manage to eat so early that you get a period of near 16 hours between two meals, some doctors believe it might reduce the risk of diabetes 2. Although "matpakke" is a very Norwegian thing (bread with cheese, meat etc that you prepare at home and put in a box to eat for lunch) - not everyone eats breakfast, so that the space between the last meal previous evening and first meal the next day is about 16 hours. Perhaps not a Norwegian thing, however many Norwegians happen to practice this, somewhat. And about vitamins - most foreigners from the south, especially if you have a tan or is dark skinned, should really really take supplements of vitamin D. Even Norwegians do this in the winter, because sunlight hitting your skin, makes the body produce vitamin D, and in winter - no sunlight. The dose needed, would be about 10 minutes of sun on a bare torso, which could be achieved, even if it isn’t too warm outside, around noon. If you don’t happen to like to do it this way, better take your vitamin D supplements… 😄 If you feel not too strong and healthy, your doctor will actually measure the levels of vitamin D and sometimes vitamin B12, if you are older or have a digestion problem. If you are a smoker, actually vitamin C and beta karotene can be dangerous for you, as lung cancer thrives on these vitamins, better quit smoking as most Norwegians already have done. Public transportation is not always working too well anymore in Norway - however with a bike, you are generally mostly fine in central parts of Oslo. Norwegians are able to bike or walk to their nearest grocery store. Americans who haven’t visited Norway yet, may not believe this, though. 😄 Still, I must remark that public transportation still works much better than places on the earth like - well we are looking at you again, americans. 😄 If you come to Norway, I promise you can get very healthy if you walk or use a bike for many errands, especially in the cities. Thanks for the video, you made me feel lucky to be Norwegian, although we have had some challenges with our buses lately, as you might know. 😅

Nice video! I'm Norwegian and can relate to most of it. :D But I just want to say; it's less and less common that work places pay for "julebord", it is mostly the "upper class" work places (oil companies etc) that do this. The rest of us have to pay for our own julebord, but that said, I have never worked a single place that DIDN'T have julebord. :)

The conversions are wrong for nok to euro. That’s 1223 euros not 1350. And 1335 usd for extra credit. I also want to point out that the cost for your monthly public transportation pass is far cheaper than most major cities in the USA. Charlotte nc is 140 usd per month, and twin cities in mn is 83. Numbers would be slightly different 3 years ago. But im surprised to see how many people in Norway think it’s expensive when every video shows it’s so much cheaper than USA cities. Maybe you’re comparing to other European cities?
